Mr. Kirchhofer created his creamery in 1888, which became in 1913, during the construction of the building on Avenue Juste-Olivier 11, the Confiserie Lausannoise and its tea room.

In the 1920s, it was bought by Mr. Schmid, then by Mr. Jean Wuthrich in 1952, who during this period created the “Rigoletto de Lausanne”. Finally, this delicate cocoa - melting caramel bite became the emblematic Giscard® in 1993.

Mr. Egon Kopp takes over as head of the company and keeps his name long inscribed in the memory of the people of Lausanne. On the other hand, it helps to perpetuate the traditional know-how of the house.

The tradition continues, with the takeover of Wuthrich by Valérie and Luc Mayor, residents of Lausanne who are passionate about the place. The couple chose to preserve its traditions, the very essence of the store, which makes it famous. To mark this continuity the newspaper Le 24 Heures published an article.

Now labeled “Historic Café of Lausanne”, Wuthrich is the last Belle Époque tea room in the city. Decorated with stained glass windows arranged around a sumptuous veranda, it welcomes gourmets in a warm and colorful “vintage” atmosphere.
