The story of our famous Giscard
In 1888, Mr. Kirchhofer created his creamery in Lausanne, which in 1913, during the construction of the building on Avenue Juste-Olivier 11, became a confectionery with its tea room.
In the 1920s, it was bought by Mr. Schmid, but it was in 1952 that the real magic began.
It was Mr. Jean Wuthrich who created the store as we know it.
Today the traditional chocolate confectionery in the center of Lausanne. Over time the famous “Rigoletto” will become the delicate mixture of cocoa and creamy caramel, which will win the hearts and taste buds of gourmands.
Particularly that of French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing. Who enjoyed it every year from the Elysée. This is how our emblematic Giscard® was born!
